About Our Club: Welcome to the "North Bay Astronomy Club". We are a community based organization dedicated to making astronomy interesting and fun for everybody.
The North Bay Astronomy Club hosts a variety of activities that include monthly meetings, community star parties, public education, and recreational star gazing. Membership in the club is open to anyone with an interest in astronomy. Whether you are viewing the sky for the first time, or you are a seasoned astronomer, we invite you to come join us and experience one of our monthly meetings or our star parties.
Gateway to the Universe: Each year the North Bay Astronomy Club holds its annual "Gateway to the Universe" star party. This star party features a variety of daytime activities & observing at night. We invite you to come out & share our hobby. All you need is an interest and we'll show you some wonders of the night sky through our personal telescopes. As well as Gateway, we hold numerous star parties throughout the year when we invite the Public to share our hobby.
Monthly Meetings: Currently our meetings are both in person at the old Tweedsmeir School at 176 Lakeshore Drive. As well we will be continuing to broadcast our meetings on Zoom. We have information on the home page as to how to get Zoom. If you are interested in joining the meeting,(you do not need to be a member) contact us and give us your email and you will be added to the invitation.
Each club meeting has several regular presentations of 10 to 15 minutes. We also enjoy a variety of activities that may include astronomy slide or video presentations, or a guest speaker. The meetings are a good place to have fun, relax and learn more about the many aspects of astronomy.
